We don't sell, rent, share, or trade your information with anyone, and we don't run third-party advertising or behavioral tracking on this website. If you'd like your information removed from our records, just ask.

What we collect

Information you provide directly

When you fill out the contact form on this site or contact us by email, phone, or in person, you provide:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number (if you choose to provide it)
• The nature of the matter you'd like help with
• Any additional details you share in your message or during a consultation

If you engage us to prepare legal documents, we also collect the information necessary to prepare those documents — for example, property addresses, beneficiary names, asset details, and identifying information for parties to the documents. This information is provided by you at your specific direction so we can do the work you've hired us to do.

Information collected automatically

This website is hosted by Netlify and uses standard web infrastructure. Netlify automatically logs basic information about visits (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and performance purposes. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising trackers, behavioral cookies, or marketing pixels. The site uses Google Fonts to load typography, which involves a routine request to Google's servers — Google has its own privacy practices for those requests.

What we do with it

We use your information solely to:

• Respond to your inquiries
• Provide free initial consultations
• Prepare legal documents you've directed us to prepare
• Communicate with you about your matter
• Comply with our recordkeeping obligations under California Business and Professions Code §6400 et seq. (which require LDAs to maintain client files for several years)
• Comply with applicable law, court orders, or government requests when legally required

That's it. We don't use your information for marketing campaigns, behavioral profiling, training machine learning models, or any other purpose without your explicit permission.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent, lease, or trade your information to anyone, ever.
• We don't share your information with marketing companies, data brokers, or advertisers.
• We don't post your information on social media or in any public forum.
• We don't use your information to train any artificial intelligence or machine learning system.
• We don't track you across other websites.

When we share information

The only times your information leaves our hands are when it's necessary to do the work you hired us to do or when required by law:

• County Recorder and government agencies when filing deeds and other documents on your behalf (the content of those documents is what you've asked us to file).
• Courts if applicable to the document preparation (e.g., for matters involving court filings).
• Service providers who help operate the business, such as our hosting provider (Netlify) and email provider (Google) — these providers process information only on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments.
• Legal compliance when required by valid subpoena, court order, or applicable law.

Importantly: communications between you and an LDA are not protected by attorney-client privilege. We do everything we reasonably can to protect your information, but we are not attorneys and cannot offer the same privilege protections an attorney can.

How we protect your information

Your communications with us are stored in our secure email and document management systems. Physical client files are kept in our office in locked storage. Electronic files are kept on password-protected, encrypted devices. The website itself uses HTTPS encryption for all traffic. We take reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized access — but no system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute confidentiality (no legitimate business can).

Your rights under California law

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by CPRA). These include:

• Right to know: You can ask what personal information we've collected about you and what we've done with it.
• Right to delete: You can ask us to delete personal information we've collected from you, subject to limited exceptions (we may need to retain certain records to comply with our LDA recordkeeping obligations under CA B&P §6400 et seq.).
• Right to correct: You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing: We don't sell or share your personal information, so this right has nothing to opt out of in practice — but you have the right anyway.
• Right to non-discrimination: We won't treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Estate planning matters that involve minor children are handled with the legal parent or guardian, never directly with the minor.
